JAMES GUERRERO ARCHITECTS, INC
The house itself is of minor importance. Its relation to the community is the thing that really counts."
The South Sound contains a beauty all to its own, manifesting in its landscapes, its buildings, and even its people. We're deeply involved in our community, from local schools to the Chamber of Commerce to charitable associations such as the Lakewood Rotary.
Recent newsworthy involvement in our community includes our founder, James Guerrero, heading the recent Clover Park School District's Levy Ballot. As Chairperson, James Guerrero lead the campaign to raise the school budget $23.5 million dollars per year, supplementing teacher salaries and reducing class sizes across the primary and secondary school levels. The levy passed after a vote on February 9th, 2016. Principal Architect Neitha Wilkey also is a credited Director on the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and has been since 2001. She also served as the Chair of the Board of Directors from 2005-2006.
We also have slightly less newsworthy involvement in our community- James Guerrero coached his youngest daughter's middle school cross country team for two years, and contributes both time, food, and travel to Rotary food drives and charities. James Guerrero Architects, Inc is an avid supporter of local youth organizations and local youth, of safe communities, and of buildings that are conscious our future - buildings we design to be inherited by our children, not demolished and rebuilt out of their pocket.
We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us."
Our goal as an architectural firm is not just to design homes, but to design communities - both miniature ones in the workplace and home, and in our neighborhood on the whole. We believe strongly that we are responsible not only for creating a design that suits our client's aesthetic and needs, but also fits our community's needs - environmental responsibility and locally sourced materials, builders, and contractors.
