Shaping the way
the world lives.
We are a small, focused firm that provides full professional services, individualized for the unique needs of each and every client.
Who We Are
To promote a harmonious integration between architecture and nature.
While many architectural firms specialize in designing only one specific type of structure, James Guerrero Architects, Inc. embraces the challenges and the more holistic understanding of architecture that comes with taking on projects of all makes and models.
Our experience includes churches, retail stores, state and county projects, educational facilities, office buildings, hotels, multi-family dwellings, tenant improvements as well as custom residential construction and remodel.
Our business philosophy is to provide outstanding personal service that will culminate in an aesthetically pleasing, functional design suited specifically to the needs and preferences of our client.
Areas of Practice
FEASIBILITY STUDIES
We can determine if an existing building or site is suitable for your dream project and help establish a cost base to find out if you have found the right place for your new project. We can provide a brief overview or an in-depth analysis depending on your needs.
SCHEMATIC DESIGNS
This is the precedent research and analysis of the property. Through the process of meeting with you and getting your input and feedback on the designs, we narrow the options down to a design that includes everything you were envisioning for your project.
PERMITS
At JGA we can get your project through the permitting phase no matter what phase your project is in when we join in. Some of the permits that we specialize in are Pre-Application Conference, Conditional Use Permit, Design Review, and Building Permits.
L.E.A.D. CERTIFIED PROJECTS
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (L.E.E.D.) is a multi-category, multi-tier third party building certification program that promotes low-impact design and building practices. James Guerrero is a LEED Accredited Professional and can consult you if you are interested in your next building being certified.
PASSIVE HOMES
Households account for nearly 22% of total energy consumption in the United States. Almost 75% of that energy is for space heating and air conditioning. It is now easier to use solar panels and other means to produce all of the energy needed to operate the home leaving very little demand from the grid.
LOW IMPACT SITE DESIGN
Low Impact Development refers to the restoration of pre-disturbance hydrologic processes of infiltration. This is accomplished through pervious paving, rain gardens (infiltration swales), rainwater collection and retention for later use in irrigation, and green roofs which allow rainwater to be used by and evaporated from plants on the roof.
Our mission is to promote a harmonious integration between architecture and nature.
With over 25 years of experience in South Puget Sound, James Guerrero Architects has both the expertise and the commitment to craft designs that exceed our clients’ expectations. We are deeply invested in the longevity and viability of our community and know that every project we undertake contributes to our region. We strive to be innovative in our design, enhance profitability, functionality while keeping true to our commitment to creativity and environmental responsibility.
